EEX is in need of parents to become certified USA Swimming officials. Currently, we have only two parents who are certified and eligible to officiate at meets. Both are the parent of 13 or older swimmers. We especially need certified officials who have younger swimmers. There are two clinics locally that get you started on the certification process. They are:
10/22 6:15 PM at the John Witherspoon Pool in Princeton contact Mark Butler butlerms31@gmail.com
Please visit the www.njswim.org web site (officials tab) to read more on the process. The full clinic schedule can be found here. If you think you might be interested, contact one of the officials above to get registered for one of the clinics. Remember, meet officials get into meets free and are fed throughout the day. Plus, they get to be on deck with their kids for the meet. Please consider attending one of the clinics!
Victoria Cassidy, Matthew Kietlinski and Samantha Kietlinski (a recent EEX graduate, now at Georgetown) join senior swimmers from all over the country in this prestigious program. Matthew is a first time participant, Victoria is in her second year and Samantha, her third.
The Scholastic All-America program is open to all 10th-12th grade USA Swimming members who earn a 3.5 GPA or better and achieve a Junior National Bonus Time Standard or swim in a selected disability championship meet or the Open Water National Championships. The program begins each July 1st and continues through June 30th of the following year. Applications, including a copy of the official year-end school transcript and a copy of the swimmer’s times, are due on August 1st of each year. Applications for the 2009-2010 year will be available in March 2010.
On Friday, October 2, EEX will be holding it's "Back to Pool Night" starting at 6 PM. This is a chance for the whole team, including new and returning athletes, parents and siblings, to get together and celebrate the beginning of a new swim season.
Prior to the party, the Team Manager, Meredith Lavery will be holding a new parents' meeting in the balcony area at 5 PM. At this meeting, there will be a welcome for the new parents and basic information regarding the EEX program, including meets, contracts, and job requirements. This meeting is very informative for new parents and it is highly recommended that it not be missed, especially if you are new to USA Swimming!
Practice will end early at 6 PM that evening so everyone can socialize and eat some dinner. This will be a potluck supper and parents are asked to make sure that the food arrives by 5:30 PM. We will be eating in the balcony area, so please bring your food/drink donations upstairs. It is asked that families with more than one athlete (or many non swimming siblings) bring two food/drink donations. Please also bring serving utensils for your food.
Requested items are as follows:
Athlete last name
A-H Main course (e.g., pasta, chicken fingers, hoagies, pizza)
J-K Salad (veggie or fruit)
L-N Dessert
P 2 Bags of Chips & dip
R Cheese & crackers
S-Z Case of water or 100% Fruit drinks (in individual serving sizes, prechilled)

Metro Swim Shop will be at TCNJ on Saturday morning, Sept. 26, 7-10am for suit fittings, team warm ups, and equipment purchases (kick boards, goggles etc.). Metro accepts credit cards as well as cash and checks.
Please ask your athlete's coach about what type of equipment will be needed.
